Copenhagen is being rebuilt these days; lots of holes in the streets, revealing the normally unseen netherworld.
And a forest of cranes rising everywhere, reaching for the skies...

Modern Ghosts

Modern Ghosts 6 Modern Ghosts 5 Modern Ghosts 4 Modern Ghosts 3 Modern Ghosts 2 Modern Ghosts 1

People wandering around in our rooms, talking to themselves, not to us. We can see them, but they rarely seem to notice us. They repeat their actions, again,
again and again, and yet they think it's all new. We know better, but can't tell them. Isn't it amazing how modern televison sometimes resembles ancient ghosts...?

Fluxus

Photos are good at recording space, while video is required to capture time as well. But in this collection I have tried to include both time and space.

Light Show

This Light Show is a combination of fast and slow light, from last winter: I flashed the snow falling in the foreground, while background houses got long exposure... One night in January 2009 I passed a shop displaying multi coloured decorations. Shaking the lens combined with long exposure produced these rainbow vortices... One night in December 2008 I passed a building with vertical blue christmas lights. Shaking the lens combined with long exposure created these electric blue sights... Behind the light, it is still possible to glimpse the original backgrounds... This light show is from the late night streets of Copenhagen, Denmark. It's an early gallery so the images are a mixed bunch of different lights from different nights... This light show is from the late night streets of Copenhagen, Denmark. Normally light is only the means to create a photographic image. But here I've crossed the line: light has become the motive itself...

Water

Earth

Once upon a time there was a pool of water. Then the sun finally came around, vaporizing all the water. Afterwards everyone can see: when mud dries, the surface cracks, leaving a broken microlandscape... Once upon a time there was a pool of water. Looking at a plant, what do you notice first? The colourful flowers, green leaves, or overall shape? But probably you wouldn't even consider the soil..? Recently I looked closer, and was rather amazed; it's a weird landscape! Imagine you were an ant, a fly or another insect; here's the landscape you'd see... Stones, rocks and rubble, pieces of the city. Stones also represent the element ''Earth'' - the hard, solid, stable, unmovable aspect of matter...

Sometimes buildings are wrapped in various materials for various purposes. Whether for art or repair, the result is a mysterious surface. There is of course a practical aspect of wrapping stuff, protection of content. But also a surprise element; gifts too are wrapped, to keep content a secret...
